Lustrous damask tablecloths,
Muffled laughter, tinkling glasses,
Pearly faces in sequined light,
Like a Klimt portrait, freeze-frame
till
Chopin arpeggios, like
Iridescent soap bubbles,
Swell and merge and disappear.
