"Myth can be used as a vehicle for handing down solid knowledge independently from the degree of insight of the people who do the actual telling of the stories. . . In ancient times, moreover, it allowed the members of the archaic 'brain trust' to 'talk shop' unaffected by the presence of laymen. The danger of giving something away was practically nil." 1

In 2040 the Cabal ordered its American puppet President to activate Operation Armageddon: nuclear destruction of the San Francisco Bay area--blamed on terrorists. Wall Street collapsed and the dollar plunged on world currency markets. The president imposed martial law across the nation. Constitutional liberties were suspended and thousands of Americans were summarily arrested and taken to the more than 800 Halliburton-built concentration camps across the nation.

Names of arrestees came from the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE) database begun under Bush II, the list of individuals that the intelligence community believed might harm the United States.

The President activated the Rex 84 Program, the systematic detention of anyone even suspected of disagreeing with the ruling junta. These thousands of subversives were thrown into detention centers operated by FEMA. Heading up all operations, FEMA became the executive arm of the police state. The two sub-programs of Rex 84 went into operation:

  1. Operation Garden Plot: the program to control the population

  2. Operation Cable Splicer: the program for an immediate takeover of state and local governments by the federal government

The totalitarian junta turned military bases into prisons. American military personnel were forced to transport and guard concentration camp "subversives." Most of the camps housed a population of 20,000 prisoners. Located just outside Fairbanks, Alaska, the largest of these facilities--a special "re-training" center--served as a massive mental programming facility that held approximately 2 million prisoners.

Many prisoners were selected
for extremely harsh torture.

ID chips were implanted in all prisoners. Removal of the ID chip resulted in immediate execution.

Civilians were assigned jobs in defense factories, pharmaceutical plants producing "mind modifiers," citizen "retraining centers," and other work deemed essential to the "war on terror" effort.

They were kept in line through constant mental regimentation and scenes of brutal street arrests.

The Saving Remnant

Fortunately, a small group, the "Saving Remnant," was able to foresee these dire circumstances and plan ahead for the preservation of a large number of people. Led by Perennialist 2 teachers, the Saving Remnant avoided detection and apprehension by the totalitarian regime through becoming "invisible."

A well-known Sufi was asked, 'What is invisibility?'
He said: 'I shall answer that when an opportunity for a demonstration of it occurs.'
Some time later that man and the one who had asked him the question were stopped by a band of soldiers.
The soldiers said: 'We have orders to take all dervishes into custody, for the king of this country says that they will not obey his commands, and say things which are not welcome to the tranquility of thought of the populace.'
The Sufi said: 'And so you should, for you must do your duty.'
'But are you not Sufis?' asked the solders.
'Test us,' said the Sufi.
The officer took out a Sufi book. 'What is this?' he said.
The Sufi looked at the title page. 'Something which I will burn in front of you, since you have not already done so,' he said.
He set light to the book, and the soldiers rode away, satisfied.
The Sufi's companion asked: 'What was the purpose of that action?'
'To make us invisible,' said the Sufi, 'for to the man of the world, 'visibility' means that you are looking like something or someone he expects you to resemble. If you look different your true nature becomes invisible to him.' 3

Since the transcendent wisdom of the Perennial Tradition is partially preserved in teaching stories, the Saving Remnant made selected tales available to the public so they could become aware of what was happening in the world and what response could be made.

The Saving Remnant made this teaching story available to the public so people worldwide could recognize the deadliness of the demonic cabal.

The Branch

Once upon a time, in the Land of the Fools, a stranger to the country found that the branch of a tree had broken and was about to destroy a dam full of water.
He seized the branch and held on to it. Soon afterwards a party of people of the Land of Fools came walking by.
    They said:
'What are you doing with that branch?'
    He answered.
'How lucky you have arrived! Help me to lift this branch, for otherwise the dam will be broken, and we shall all die.'
They laughed and laughed. Finally the wisest among them said:
'Dear friends! This is a delicious moment: savour it. Not only does this man, talking about a branch, imagine that we are stupid enough to think that it has some relevance to a dam--but he imagines that by relating it to an ancient fear of ours he will make us obey him!'
And so, in paroxysms of laughter, the people of the Land of Fools went on their way.
The end of the story is exactly what you think it is. 4

Containing esoteric principles that can be applied in times of crisis to preserve the members of the tradition itself, Perennialist teaching stories were also used in structuring the activities of the Saving Remnant groupings. In a number of instances after 2040, the Saving Remnant adopted the principles contained in the following teaching story to save itself from destruction.

The Mob

A certain Sufi once said to his followers:

'We shall now practise the burning of the objects connected with our studies, the denunciation of the principles which all consider to be central to our beliefs, and the carrying out of the dervish science in places other than the customary ones.'
Taking this as a test of faith, many of his followers obeyed. Some even said:
'How sublime that we should be learning to abandon externals, for this is surely a means of concentrating our attention upon essentials.'
A few years after this there was a great commotion in the city in which this community was living. Someone came to them and said:
'A decree has been passed declaring our activities illegal. Dervishes are being taken to prison, mobs and police are destroying our centres. We are unable to protect our property.'

'Have no fear', said the Sufi to his disciples, 'for our moment has now come.'
And when the mobs instigated by the tyrant of the country arrived a few minutes later, they did not pause, but swept past looking for victims.
There was nothing that they could do at the Sufi's headquarters, for they could see that he and his people were busily dismantling it, and feeding bonfires with their property. By behaving as a mob the community maintained itself intact, and its members went free.
They are the only survivors of the students of Sufism from that entire country. 5

The Saving Remnant possesses arcane knowledge concerning human transformation and the discovery of truth through esoteric group processes and has made this information available to select people throughout human history through Perennialist teaching material and exercises. In all operations of the Saving Remnant, Platonic Dialectic is the foundation of all procedures utilized.

The symbiotic 6 aspects of enlightening groups--group reasoning and group solidarity--have been applied by a few external social groupings over the centuries with outstanding success, but this civic wisdom has not been widely utilized. For the most part, humans have ignored this knowledge and allowed human predators--political, religious, military, and economic tyrants--to oppress them, causing untold misery.

By 2040, the abuse of humans by political and economic tyrants had become so pervasive and ghastly that it was now essential for people to begin assimilating the Perennialist group symbiosis principles with which they could build a commonwealth to replace the totalitarian dictatorship. This did not, of course, take place overnight, but it was essential for humans to begin to understand these higher principles and learn to apply them in small experimental cells.

The arcane knowledge of group symbiosis is absolutely essential to humankind's survival and has been revealed by such Perennialist teachers as Hermes, Krishna, Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato, Jesus, Paul, Boethius, and Bernard of Clairvaux.

The higher ordering principles of group solidarity and group reasoning are elements of innate intelligence, allowing all humans to participate in group decision-making. But even though these elements are innate, they can be overwhelmed by ignorance and personal vice, until they become non-functional--forgotten and atrophied. Humans can degenerate to the bestial state of dog-eat-dog, disdaining reverence for unity, order, and justice. Therefore, when the majority of humankind loses the sense of civic and social virtue, to the point of civilization's being threatened, it becomes necessary for enlightened groups who know the Forms to teach humans the arcane wisdom of group solidarity and group reasoning which will deliver them from extinction.

The Saving Remnant began to make available to humans the arcane knowledge of how groups can work together for the benefit of all their members in the search for Truth. Though Perennialist enlightening groups are special aggregations of selected participants, the principles which these groups discover, practice, and disseminate are applicable to all human groupings. The Perennial Tradition sees the end and aim of evolution as the perfection of the One through the autonomous functioning of all its individual members. The Saving Remnant began to revivify, adapt, and re-introduce esoteric principles of group functioning that serve to promote the welfare of all members within any organization--including learning circles, cities, and society in general.

The guiding principle of the Saving Remnant was that each individual carries out the function for which his individual quality of consciousness enables him, one to one kind of work and one to another, every person functioning to the best of his ability; thereby society becomes one unified whole.

The Saving Remnant was lead by persons who had attained the specific skills of statesmanship--those persons Plato identified as philosopher-statesmen--who can order their own lives by an advanced knowledge of higher organizing principles (Forms). These leaders possessed the knowledge of true statesmanship: knowledge about societies as a whole and the maintenance of good internal and external relations. This is a special capability, and a person cannot assume that he possesses these complex skills merely because he has wealth or power.

By 2040, the world had come to such an unbearable crisis point through despotic rulers bringing nations and their people to a state of utter ruin that a new type of leadership and a new set of ordering principles was sought by all thinking persons.

The Saving Remnant operated on a new kind of organizing principle--group reasoning--which forms the basis for consensus groups. Such groups are completely different from organizations that elect representatives and allow those persons to think and act for them. Increasing numbers of people were able to see that their previous supposedly democratic governments had been taken over by criminal elements and used to manipulate them in any way the tyrants chose.

One of the first operating principles the Saving Remnant taught was that persons involved in group decision-making must be interested in learning how to cooperate in a group setting to accomplish goals chosen by all its members. The members must all be active participants, not mere observers.

In the Saving Remnant groupings the persons who set the goals were responsible for realizing them. It was recognized as only reasonable that those who shared the responsibility of carrying out group goals should have the opportunity to share in planning what was to be done.

As the Saving Remnant began to work with survivalist and activist groups worldwide, they found that members of these outside groups were eager to learn the essential skills required for effective group participation, leading to the success of each member and of the organization as a whole. They recognized that persons do not develop such specialized skills in the ordinary course of human experience--that they require technical training in the principles and procedures involved.

The Saving Remnant was able to make available a diverse curriculum for those groups eager to learn the skills essential to reconstituting society:

Beginning in 2040, the Perennial Tradition--an ageless spiritual aristocracy that has disseminated wisdom to humankind in each historic era--constituted itself as the Saving Remnant, displaying in its very existence and modes of operation the mystery of how civilization is reconstituted through group activities and how human groups can function at the highest level.

Because of its transcendent knowledge, the Saving Remnant was able to provide the primary leadership in the process of overthrowing and destroying the demonic cabal, without the world actually being much aware of it, in a manner similar to this teaching story.

Diet of Grapes

Once upon a time, in the days of long ago, there was a wise and powerful prince, who lived within a walled estate. His palace was surrounded by orchards and gardens, and he was generally thought, because he did not explain his actions, to be uncaring of the people's interests, and neglectful of his duty to strive to improve himself. Those people who were considered wise were unable to understand him, and spoke against him. Those who knew little about him thought that he was bereft of qualities. Those who wished to curry favour praised him; but since such people are generally superficialists, this did not extend his repute far.
Now the territory in which this prince lived was, as is the way of life, attacked by barbarians, who successively reduced the neighbouring principalities until they were fast approaching his own. Time and again the prince sent messages to the other rulers, asking them to ally themselves with him against the invaders, but such was their arrogance, their ignorance of him, or their other tendencies that they took no heed.
This behaviour on the part of his neighbours did not seem to distress the prince. All he said was, 'The burden of wisdom is almost too much to bear. I have, as a truthful man, been forced to tell them that I have to be their leader if the war is to be won in co-operation with them. Naturally they will not accept such a condition. Therefore the only option is to wait until the Second Stage.'
The barbarians continued to advance, until those who had been opposing them, in ever-increasing numbers, fell back upon the domain of our prince to make a last stand. They were the remnants of the knights and soldiers of every one of the vanquished princes.
Thus it was that one day when the prince was resting, his minister approached him and . . . said:
We have been unable to prevent the remnants of the defending armies from climbing the walls of the Domain, in their flight. They are now huddled in the vineyards, covered in mud and blood, in the last stages of exhaustion.'
The prince raised his head. 'And what else?' he asked.
'And,' continued the minister, 'they are too exhausted even to eat or to attend to their wounds. They are now lying fast asleep, like dead men, while the enemy masses without.'
'Very well,' said the prince, 'now you have made your report, you may withdraw. Return to me the day after tomorrow, to describe conditions then.'
The minister, though knowing that his master was possessed of wisdom, wondered why the prince did not take some action to defend the domain, but, like a good servant, made his salutation and withdrew.
Two days later he again approached the prince and said: 'Lord of Princeliness I have come as instructed.'
'Give me your report,' answered the prince.
'The exhausted warriors,' said the minister, 'have now slept for two days.'
'And what are they doing?' the prince asked.
'They are now so famished that they are devouring grass, leaves and raw grapes.'
'Very good,' said the prince. 'Return in a further day and give me an account of conditions.'
The next day the minister announced: 'High Presence! The lords, warriors and ordinary people who fled to our domain are now eating the ripe grapes, having restored themselves somewhat.'
'Continue your report tomorrow, at midday,' said his master.
The day after, the minister said, 'The refugees are now selecting the best grapes and eating them'.
'Excellent,' said the prince. 'Now call them to me, and I shall prepare them for the victory against the barbarians, for they are ready. Before this, they were in no condition to struggle, and had to get what nutrition they could from us. If we leave it any later, they will be so sated that they will start to argue among themselves, and will not listen to us. Prepare for victory!'
And that is the tale of the wise prince whose actions nobody understood. When the final battle came, and the barbarians were slaughtered, the victorious army fell out with one another. Returning to their own lands, their historians wrote conflicting accounts of what had passed.

All accounts had this in common: they misunderstood the prince. 7

With the almost invisible assistance of the Saving Remnant, humankind was able to regain its awareness of the timeless principles of justice, truth, and goodness, ridding itself of the demonic cabal and bringing cabal members to account for crimes against humankind in the International Criminal Court.
