Necessary Distinctions


     In this complex world of propaganda, brainwashing, disinformation, and deception, it's necessary to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit whistleblowers, turf wars and whistleblowing, and agency policy disagreements and whistleblowing.

A genuine whistleblower is a government agency employee who disagrees with specific policies and/or the empowerment of a government agency--and who disagrees with the overall policies and activities of the administration in power and acts to change or replace that administration.

  • Operates as a fake whistleblower or administration critic to make it appear that the administration has authentic opposition either within its ranks or from the outside. Heather Wilson, Republican Congressional Representative from New Mexico, made it appear that she was a critic of the Bush administration concerning his domestic spying operation. As this Website predicted, Wilson was a ringer for the Republicans and together with Arlen Specter merely changed the legislation, making Bush's illegal spying acts legal.

         A genuine whistleblower will inevitably become the target for Republican smear tactics, will most likely be fired, and will probably not be asked to testify before a Congressional investigating committee. Republicans brand all genuine whistleblowers as traitors and as giving aid and comfort to our terrorist enemies. Even today, reactionary Republicans are still villifying the "deep throat" whistleblower who helped bring about the fall from power of the criminal Richard Nixon.

    1 The current turf war is between some Council on Foreign Relations insiders, who control the publication of the Foreign Affairs journal, and that bastion of the Neocons, the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). Some ex-intelligence officers from the CIA and other agencies resent Cheney and Rumsfeld usurping their power and want their independent strength restored. One of the first returning salvos against the ex-spooks has been fired by Danielle Pletka, vice president of the AEI in her article in the Los Angeles Times on February 21, 2006, entitled "It's no secret: the CIA plays politics," in which she takes Pillar to task for saying that Iraq will have no value as a "democratic exemplar." In other words, there's a turf war going on between one group of cabal thugs and another, though neither group disagrees whatsoever with the militaristic, imperialistic policies of the cabal.
